The PROCOOL AVM-480T is a temperature controlled, variable speed silent fan system.

Four 80mm Thermistor controlled fans speed up as heat increases and will slow down as heat decreases.
The mounting plate makes installation easy and doubles as an adaptor for existing 120mm mount.

With a noise level of only 6-14 dBA (each fan) at top speed, the AVM-480T is the quietest fan system available.
The low noise makes this system suitable for noise sensitive applications from home AV to professional studios.
And with airflow pushing at 14-32 CFM (each fan) this system can cool most cabinets.

AVM-480T Includes:
  • 4 SXT80 Temp controlled fans
  • 4 Fan Mounting Plates w/screws
  • 4 Fan Grillls w/screws
  • Power supply

Quiet operation - 12-20 dBA

Procool Fan Model SXT80:

Procool model SXT80 fans are Silent temperature controlled variable speed 80mm fans.
The specially designed blade and motor allow maximum airflow with the lowest noise.

Speeds range from 1200 RPM idle start speed to 2400 RPM at full speed.

SXT80 fans have a thermal sensor that detects the temperature and tells the fan how fast to run. The sensor should be located on or near the heat source for optimal performance.

When the sensor detects heat above 77°F the fan speed will begin to increase. The fan will reach full speed of 2400 RPM at 104°F.

Care and Maintenance

To maintain optimal performance, keep the fans clean. Canned air works well. If the fans are used outdoors or in a dusty environment is recommended to clean the fan blades as needed to keep clean.

Blade Removal

For cleaning and maintenance, the blade prop can be removed.
Grasp the blade prop and pull straight out of the fan body. Inspect the shaft and lubricate if needed. Any oil will work; light grease works best. Clean blade as needed with a dry cloth. Soap and water can be used if needed, but should be thoroughly rinsed and dried before use. Reinstall the blade; when properly installed the blade will snap into place.

Troubleshooting

The fan will not start:

1. Check the power connections. The power supply has a green led indicator, it should be on. If it is not check the power source. If not lit or flashing, it would indicate power supply failure or no power source power.
2. Check that the fan plugs are all plugged in to the power supply.
3. Check the fan blades to make sure they are fully seated in the housing. Press on the center of the blade and push in. If it is not seated you can hear it snap into place.
4. Turn the fan blade by hand to see if they are stuck. They should be free moving. If this starts the fan it is likely the fans need maintenance.
5. When the fans are new and if the temp is below 70?F the thermistor probe may need to be warmed by hand slightly to get the fan to spin.

The fan is making noise:

1. Check for anything that could be rubbing against the fan blade.
2. Make sure the fan blades are clean. Dirty fan blades can make noise.
3. Check the blade prop shaft for lubrication. (See Blade Removal above)
